Infrastructure Expert / Demand Manager (m/f/d)

Background:
Demand Management acts as the strategic interface between the client’s business units and the IT organization, ensuring IT requirements are implemented in alignment with business objectives regarding time, budget, and quality. A core element of this role is the creation of detailed technical specifications that translate business needs into clearly defined, cost-effective, and timely IT solutions. The role requires a proactive, structured approach to stakeholder management and a deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure landscapes

Tasks:

  • Coordination with technical and business stakeholders at the client’s location to capture, assess, and prioritize requirements
  • Creation and establishment of technical specifications within the context of demand management, covering: Data Center (on-premise & hybrid cloud), Networks (Cisco – Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, Firewalling), Big Data platforms, and IT security topics
  • Translation of business requirements into actionable IT infrastructure demands (Demand Management)
  • Evaluation and assessment of technical feasibility, effort estimation, and solution options in collaboration with solution architects and engineering teams
  • Facilitation of workshops and alignment meetings between business units and IT delivery teams
  • Tracking and reporting of demand pipeline, ensuring transparency across all active and planned initiatives
  • Support during solution delivery phases to ensure specifications are correctly implemented and accepted

Requirements:

  • Many years of experience as a technical consultant in IT infrastructure
  • Many years of experience as an IT network expert, including Cisco (Routing, Switching, ideally SD-WAN / Meraki / ACI)
  • Solid experience in data center environments (on-premise, colocation, hybrid cloud / Azure / AWS)
  • Proven experience in requirements engineering and demand management, including coordination across multiple technical and business stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks is a plus
  • Strong documentation skills; ability to produce concise, structured technical specifications
  • Project experience in an international environment (project languages: German and English)
  • Self-organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a remote-first setup
